The Diocesan School for Christian Studies offers a wide variety of educational programs and training for service in the church and in society. The School also provides the academic preparation for persons aspiring to the diaconate.

The Diocesan School was founded to reflect the Episcopal Church’s focus on “mutual ministry” as the responsibility of all Christians under the one Baptism each of us shares in Christ. In the sacrament of Baptism, we are commissioned to “represent Christ and His Church” in all that we do.

Every Christian’s spiritual journey is deepened by study, prayer and formation, knowing the stories, deepening spiritual development, and strengthening skills for ministry. The Diocesan School for Christian Studies provides the resources for grounding persons in the Bible, Church History, Theology, Liturgy, Spirituality, Human Awareness and Understanding, Pastoral Care and other disciplines to prepare them for the ministries to which they are called.
